Menston Primary School is a Local Authority maintained school in Ilkley, West Yorkshire serving a community of pupils from Foundation Year through to Year 6. JLM Mechanical and Electrical Ltd were contracted to design and install a variety of mechanical and electrical services for a new project called ‘The Link’, creating an interlink between the infant and junior parts of the school.

The new building comprises classrooms, a staff room and a care club building. Our mechanical engineering team designed, installed and configured a CHP boiler, ventilation, above-ground drainage and domestic hot and cold water services.

In addition, we provided a range of electrical services including LED lighting controlled via ‘Ex-Or’ LCMs, power and data services, a fully addressable loop system alarm which is compliant with BS 5839-1, an access control system, and external and emergency lighting.

In support of these services, JLM frequently carries out annual mechanical & electrical inspections and maintenance work to ensure sites are fully compliant with regulatory standards, including Amazon’s own stringent internal standards.
