30 Jul Is Your Business P.A.T Tested?
If you’ve been keeping up with our blog here on the JLM Electrical website, you’ll know we offer a host of services that will benefit your business. From LED lighting to the installation of CCTV and intruder alarms, there are few things we can’t do to ensure your business is not only secure, but features the very latest in electrics, too.
Did you know we also offer P.A.T testing? We’re sure you’re aware that Portable Appliance Testing (P.A.T) is a vital part of any health and safety policy. And in order to gain the assurance you’re looking for when it comes to running your business safely and ensuring your workforce is free from harm, we recommend you look into P.A.T testing.
It’s worth noting that over 25% of all reportable electrical accidents involve portable appliances, such as laptops. Furthermore, the Electricity at Work Regulations place a legal responsibility on employers, employees and the self-employed to comply with the provisions of these regulations. What that means to you is you need to take practical steps to ensure no danger results when using such necessary work equipment. After all, taking the necessary precautions now might save you a lot of worry later.
To be compliant, you must implement a maintenance system when it comes to testing and inspection. The good news is we can help with that, though. Consider which appliances are used by your employees and which might also be used by members of the public. If, for example, you run or work in a hospital, school, hotel or shop, it’s vital you have appliances P.A.T tested to ensure you aren’t putting anyone in danger.
You’re not off the hook if appliances are supplied or hired, either; each one of these will need to be P.A.T. tested and they’ll also require inspection following servicing or repairs, too. Everything from replacement plugs and fuses should be tested, so why not tick this vital job off your list?
Our prices here at JLM Electrical are reasonable. We can ensure up to 37 items are P.A.T tested for a fixed price of just £49. If you’d like 38 to 50 items tested, the cost will be an additional £1.30 per item, with items from 51 to 100 coming in at an additional £1.10 per item. All costs are subject to VAT, but you will find we’re competitively priced to ensure you can cover yourself, your staff and your business without breaking the bank.
