13 Quay Street, is a 4-storey mixed-use development located in Manchester’s upmarket Spinningfields district. The building houses commercial office space, as well as a restaurant, a craft ale bar and a nightclub. JLM delivered an integrated programme of mechanical and electrical engineering works to the building, including plumbing and water supply, heating and ventilation, electrical supply, gas supply, and fire safety/building security systems.
Our mechanical engineering team provided water supply services to the building, as well as supplying and installing above-ground drainage stacks and sanitaryware to the public and private bathroom areas.
We provided general power and electricity to the building alongside specific mechanical power supplies and data cabling, including the installation of cable management/containment features, external trenching, relocation of lift power supplies and lightning protection.
In the interior, our electrical engineering team supplied and installed general and emergency lighting fixtures and controls, stairwell lighting and controls and main lobby lighting and controls. We also supplied external LED lighting and controls to the front aspect of the building including lighting column bases.
We supplied and installed outdoor heaters with push button control for public terrace/exterior areas, as well as panel heaters to the building's interior areas, alongside ventilation and insulation systems to provide comfort heating and cooling capabilities.
We supplied and installed a fire alarm system to the building, as well as a comprehensive access control system incorporating an intruder detection and alarm system and extensive CCTV coverage.
