Howard Civil Engineering is one of the UK’s leading civil engineering companies, specialising in S278 and infrastructure, reinforced concrete structures, roads and sewers, and groundworks. Howard contracted JLM to provide a comprehensive programme of mechanical and engineering works as part of the construction and development of their new head office building in Seacroft, Leeds.
Our electrical engineering team carried out the installation of an MCCB panel board and split-metered distribution boards, earthing and bonding, containment installation and small power installation to all areas utilising 63 amp busbar trunking and floor boxes, as well as the installation of mechanical plant power supplies and provision of lightning and surge protection.
We supplied and installed lighting and emergency lighting in the office areas, as well as external lighting and lighting control systems, and designed, configured and installed CCTV and security, disabled alert and fire detection and alarm systems, including the installation of data/networking infrastructure.
Exterior services included the installation of automated security gates and the provision of multiple 3-phase fast-charge EV charging points in the parking area.
Mechanical services carried out by JLM as part of the project included the supply and installation of a new water supply, meter and pipework, and domestic hot and cold water services, as well as the supply and installation of sanitary ware including Doc M packs.
We also designed and installed an above-ground drainage system, and supplied and installed VRF Toshiba heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) throughout, operated via a central controller.
