Totley Primary School is a successful and expanding primary school situated on the border of the Peak District in South West Sheffield, with around 425 pupils. JLM completed an extensive programme of mechanical and electrical engineering works to the school, including building management, heating and ventilation, electrical supply, gas supply, energy-saving features and safety/security systems.
JLM designed, supplied and installed a combined heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system incorporating air curtains to reduce heat loss through frequently used entrances. We installed water and gas services to the school and implemented a building management system to allow central monitoring and control of the various systems.
Our electrical engineering team were involved in a number of project deliverables, including the installation, configuration and testing of containment systems, comprising power distribution systems including sub-main distribution boards as well as small power distribution and hand dryers in the bathroom areas. We also planned and installed networking infrastructure to allow data transfer throughout the school buildings.
We installed general lighting fixtures and controls throughout the school buildings, along with emergency lighting fixtures and controls, as well as external lighting to the outside areas of the school grounds.
Our qualified engineers supplied and installed a number of safety and security systems, including a fire detection and alarm system and an intruder alarm incorporating a CCTV camera network and monitoring/recording facilities.
